More than 85 Publix associates from ten stores worked on a variety of projects at the Pasco Kids First Children’s Advocacy Center and Healthy Families Hudson Office as part of their annual Publix Serves Day. The workers built shelving and organized the advocacy center donation closet where clothing, shoes, diapers, hygiene products and other items are kept for kids who are in need. They also built a bookshelf and filled it with children’s books. At Hudson, they assisted with carpet cleaning, window washing, pressure washing and yard work. At both locations, the pinwheel team created blue pinwheel gardens to recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Publix Serves Day is an annual company tradition that began in 2015. As a company, they wanted to foster the passion for giving back that comes naturally to their associates. They set out to organize a day to bring together time and talents to help locally in ways that align with Publix’s passion for improving our communities with a focus on youth, education, and the plight of the hungry and homeless.
