The Pasco Branches of the BB&T selected Pasco Kids First for their Lighthouse Project. They donated more than $3,300 in items such as 60 pack-n-plays, car seats, backpacks with school supplies, home safety equipment and children’s underwear. Several of the team members also spent the afternoon volunteering at the Healthy Families Pasco-Hernando Office in Hudson filling the backpacks and ironing on Healthy Families labels to bags for books to new families. They also provided metal storage shelves and stage bins for Growing Great Kids and Ages and Stages materials. The BB&T Lighthouse Project began in 2009 giving the branches an opportunity to provide corporate financial support to local charities, while their associates roll up their sleeves and go to work landscaping, painting, preparing meals and more.
