Pasco Kids First was excited to receive more than 1,300 books from Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel and the Primrose School of Collier Parkway in Land O’Lakes. The Primrose parents and children generously donated new or gently used books as part of the school’s Reach Out and Read book drive. The books allow Pasco Kids First to fill a bookshelf at the Children’s Advocacy Center to provide the children and teenagers with a book to read in the waiting room or to bring home with them. Several of the books also are being distributed to families served in the organization’s Healthy Families Pasco-Hernando Program providing home-visits to parents with young children, a key time for building reading skills to enhance brain development.
