Family Support Worker Supervisor
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Field Supervisor implements the Healthy Families Pasco / Hernando project by directly supervising a team of up to six Resource Moms (Family Support Workers).
Duties and Responsibilities
Directs staff members within assigned team: schedules and assigns work, orients and trains. Provides clinical and case management supervision in a regularly scheduled one and one half hour to two hour period weekly to each RM, reviewing each assigned family at least bi-weekly.
Facilitates interdisciplinary approach to meet families’ needs. Performs a supervisory assessment of each family at entry and assigns family to RM based on cultural and experience match points when at all possible.
Facilitates team meetings weekly incorporating peer supervision / family review.
Maintains work environment that provides maximum safety and health, including emotional health, and encourages ongoing safety and healthy boundaries.
Plans workloads, work flow, deadlines, work objectives, and time utilization with staff members.
Assures that staff has materials, training, and resources to perform all aspects of their work, particularly parent-child interaction activities.
Ensures program objectives are met by conducting biweekly participant file reviews in supervision and maintains required data collection, including information for monitoring reports and project evaluations.
Assists in implementing quality assurance program for Healthy Families Pasco / Hernando project.
Assures that any situation which may involve imminent or threatened harm is reported to the abuse registry.
Establishes relationships with and coordinates with local community health and social services agencies to assure maximum utilization of services by families in accordance with project objectives.
Meets each family within the first ninety days of participation as part of the home visiting process and serves as an additional contact person when the RM is not available.
Works hours as needed other than 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday to support the work of the Resource Moms. Is available for consultation by phone.
Participates in QA process by conducting Telephone QA Surveys, reporting to Program Manager monthly on Participant Tracking/HV completion rates, logging supervisions and submitting HFA QA Supervision form monthly.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in Motivating Staff
Experience with family services that embrace the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provision.
Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child interaction
Knowledge of maternal / infant health
Knowledge of effective supervisory practices, both clinical and case management with a basic knowledge of social work principals.
Knowledge of community based resources.
Knowledge of home visiting practices.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment to determine family needs.
Dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
Masters or Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university in a health or human services field. Three years experience in providing direct services to families or children. Two years supervisory experience. Two years experience working in a Healthy Families project may be substituted for supervisory experience. Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
