Child Protection Team
Who We Are:
- A team of child abuse specialists who assist in the assessment of abuse and neglect
- A network of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists and other professionals offering services to alleged victims of abuse
What We Do:
- Provide medical services and exams to identify physical findings of abuse, neglect or sexual abuse
- Conduct forensic interviews and psychological assessments of children to further document reports of abuse
- Offer counseling to children and families who have been identified as victims of abuse
- Offer community education and awareness activities related to child abuse and neglect.
By the numbers:
- More than 5,500 abuse reports reviewed yearly
- Nearly 900 cases opened yearly
- More than 400 medical exams performed yearly
